Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV Show Review
Hey, everyone! Since all of the episodes for the Percy Jackson TV show are out, and I have watched them all, I wanted to write a review for it. I have been waiting for this show for years, and now that I’ve seen it, I have a lot of thoughts. There will be TV show spoilers in this review! The first two episodes were not my favorite. There was a lot of condensed information, and it was very fast-paced. There were some major points in the book that weren’t included, such as the hellhound appearing during the capture the flag game and Percy learning about his sword. He never gets…

Review: The Chalice of the Gods by Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson was my childhood. And now it’s back. I was shocked when I learned that Rick Riordan was writing another PJO book, set after the events in Heroes of Olympus. This, along with a TV adaptation? A dream come true. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating. But still, I’m so happy. Title: The Chalice of the GodsAuthor: Rick RiordanGenre: MG FantasySeries: Percy Jackson and the Olympians #6Page Count: 268 (hardcover) Percy Jackson, modern-day son of Poseidon, is just trying to get through high school. After saving the world multiple times by battling monsters, Titans, and giants, Percy is now settling in at Alternative High School in New York, where he hopes…

16 Books for my 16th Birthday
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I have a very exciting post today! At some point this week (I’m not revealing my actual birthday), I turned 16! That’s scary, to be honest π¨ I thought it would be fun to talk about some books that got me into reading and ones that are important to me. I’m going in chronological order, as best I can, to see how I’ve grown as a reader. I’ll also be talking a bit about how my favorite genres came to be what they are. This list is starting when I was in elementary school. I didn’t add books I read when I…

Bookish Merchandise I Own and Merch I Want
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I was looking at bookish merchandise the other day (because who doesn’t want that?) and it got me thinking that I could do a post on it. So, today I will be sharing the bookish merch that I have and some that I want to have. I’m linking where you can buy these for most of the products. I don’t know where some of them are from (they were gifts) so I won’t be able to link those. Merch I Own The Lightning Thief necklace I’m pretty sure this was given to me either for a birthday or Christmas. This kind of…

Reacting to Poor Reviews of Books I Love
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I have been trying to finish the incomplete posts that are sitting in my drafts folder and this is the one that I was able to write. Today’s post is a bit different than most, but I saw Riddhi @ Whispering Stories do this a while ago and it looked like a lot of fun, so I decided to do my own version. I will be reacting, or responding, to poor reviews of books I love. Disclaimers: I am not trying to spread hateβeveryone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect that. This is just for fun, I do not…

My Favorite Opening Lines in Books
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Today I am sharing some of my favorite opening lines from books I’ve read. Well, more like opening paragraphs. Most of the books I’m listing have the first two or so paragraphs. Still, they have the same role. First lines (and paragraphs) are one of the most important parts of writing a book. They’re the first things readers see and can influence a person’s interest. There are a lot of first lines that I’ve read but these stick out more than the rest. They’re very memorable. The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #1) by Rick Riordan Look, I didn’t want…

Christmas Songs Book Tag
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I apologize for disappearing for two weeks. Final exams were last week and they definitely took their toll this year. Luckily, my last day was Thursday and I’m on winter break now, so I’ll have more time for blogging! I know Monday isn’t normally a day I post, but I’ve been gone, so I figured that I would go ahead and post this. I’m not doing Blogmas this year, but I still wanted to do a seasonal post for the holidays. So today I am doing the Christmas Songs Book Tag! And also ignoring all the other tags I have to do.…

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. This post is later than usual, I’ve been kind of swamped with schoolwork, and haven’t had a lot of time. It’s been a while since I’ve done a Top Ten Tuesday but I thought today’s topic looked fun. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl where there is a topic and you make a list that best fits it. Todayβs topic is Books I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time. Percy Jackson by Rick RiordanThere’s nothing like reading Percy Jackson for the first time. You get introduced to this new world with amazing…

The Mysterious Benedict Society Book Tag (Original!)
When I found out that the Mysterious Benedict Society series was getting a TV show, I was very excited. I’m sad the first season only has eight episodes, but they’re all done very well, so I’m not complaining. So, in (very late) honor of the Mysterious Benedict Society book series TV show getting released on Disney+, I decided to make a tag surrounding it! I was honestly a little nervous to post this, because I’ve never made a tag before and I don’t want to mess anything up, but I figured that it would be really fun to share with you all, so I gave it a go. A few…
