Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2023
I almost never do Top Ten Tuesdays expect for this prompt now. I love learning about new releases, even when it does expand my TBR. I haven’t been keeping up with new releases recently, so I went searching and found a bunch of soon-to-be-published books that sound super interesting. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl where there is a topic and you make a list that best fits it. Todayβs topic is Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2023. Friday I’m in Love by Camryn Garrett|YA Contemporary|Release Date: January 10, 2023I love the concept behind this story! My Favorite Reads of 2022
With the start of a new year comes my favorite reads from the previous year. This has come to be one of my favorite annual post, where I get to gush about the books I loved. I read 57 books last year, which was so close to reaching my goal, but I didn’t quite make it. I’m listing my top 10 favorites, starting with ten and working my way to the book that gets the number one spot for the year. #10: The Ghosts We Keep by Mason Deaver βGrief is a complicated, ugly, messy thing. And it makes you do complicated, ugly, messy things.β I read this book as…

16 Books for my 16th Birthday
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I have a very exciting post today! At some point this week (I’m not revealing my actual birthday), I turned 16! That’s scary, to be honest π¨ I thought it would be fun to talk about some books that got me into reading and ones that are important to me. I’m going in chronological order, as best I can, to see how I’ve grown as a reader. I’ll also be talking a bit about how my favorite genres came to be what they are. This list is starting when I was in elementary school. I didn’t add books I read when I…

Bookish Merchandise I Own and Merch I Want
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I was looking at bookish merchandise the other day (because who doesn’t want that?) and it got me thinking that I could do a post on it. So, today I will be sharing the bookish merch that I have and some that I want to have. I’m linking where you can buy these for most of the products. I don’t know where some of them are from (they were gifts) so I won’t be able to link those. Merch I Own The Lightning Thief necklace I’m pretty sure this was given to me either for a birthday or Christmas. This kind of…

The Racing to Read Book Tag
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. It’s been a little while since I’ve done a tag I was actually tagged for, not just one I did because it looked fun. Today I am doing the Racing to Read Book Tag. Thank you to Riddhi @ Whispering Stories for tagging me! This tag was originally created and done in 2020 for a readathon. It was created by Ariel Bissett and Raeleen Lamay. You can also find them on their podcast: Books Unbound. Warm-Up: a book that stretches your mind A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (AGGGTM #1) by Holly Jackson My mind was definitely stretched while reading this book.…

My Favorite Book-to-Film Adaptations (And Books I Would Love to See Adapted)
There are a lot of book-to-film adaptations out there in the film industry. A lot. And some of them are. . . well, to put it nicely, not the best. In a Let’s Talk Bookish post I did a little while ago on book-to-film adaptations, I listed some of the ones I enjoyed, and then realized that there are a lot more than I thought. So, I am telling you all my favorites! Most of the list will be movies but there are some TV shows sprinkled in there. So, let’s get started! Something to note: I’ve seen a lot more book-to-film adaptations that I loved than are on this…

2022 Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag
It is that time of the year again! How? I do not know. Can someone please explain to me how the passage of time is so weird? I am back with a book blogging community staple: the Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag. I did this last year and had a lot of fun with it. There’s a few variations of this tag out there, with a bunch of prompts, so I normally go with the ones that I have answers to. General Books read: 32Reading goal: 32/60Average rating: 4.2Most-read genre: Fantasy I am ahead on my reading goal! Just barely. Last year, I was severely behind, but I’m doing pretty…

54 Thoughts I Had While Watching Heartstopper
I HAVE FINALLY WATCHED IT!! I read the entirety of Heartstopper a little while ago (I can’t wait for Volume 5!) because I am very much a “book before film” person. Afterwards, I couldn’t wait to watch the show because everyone was raving about it. Instead of writing a composed and fully thought-out review, I am sharing my unfiltered thoughts I had while watching Heartstopper. Most of time, it was just me obsessing over how adorable Charlie and Nick are and comparing the scenes in the film to the book. And yes, I know 54 thoughts are a lot, but they’re very short. I also drew this digital art portrait…

The Marvel Avengers Book Tag
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but I am a huge Marvel fan. I watched all the movies during quarantine (minus two of them which I still need to see and one that I didn’t watch because people say it’s bad) and have since become obsessed with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. So, when I found this tag, of course I wanted to do it! I don’t remember who I found it from and I haven’t been able to find the creator, but credit to whomever it is. Let’s get into it! *All GIFs link back to their sources. Iron Man: a book that made you laugh out loud All’s…

2022 Pride Month TBR
Happy almost Pride Month, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Like last year, I am planning on reading books with LGBTQ+ rep in June. As a person with a family member who is transgender, support for the LGBTQ+ community is important to me. I’m setting my TBR lower this year, so hopefully I can get through all of them. Heartstopper: Volume Three and Volume Four by Alice Oseman I finished the second volume a little while ago and I can’t wait to read the rest of them. Charlie and Nick are so perfect together. I am an adamant “book before movie/TV show” person, so I had to read the…
