January Wrap-Up | We’re Already a Month into 2022?
January is already over?! How? It literally just started. I refuse to believe that we are already into the month of February. But, we are, so I guess I’ll just have to accept it. For those who celebrate it, happy Lunar New Year! Today marks the first day of the celebration, as well as the first day of the Year of the Tiger. Let’s hope this year is better than the last two. BOOKS READ The Poppy War (The Poppy War #1) by R.F. Kuang|📖|★★★★.5I can’t believe I waited so long to read this. I absolutely loved this. The writing, the characters, the worldbuilding. The history and government was so…

2021 Wrap-Up | Review of my Reading and Blogging Year (Lots of Graphs) + Goal Setting
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Today I am sharing my wrap-up for the year of 2021. This was my first year of blogging and I payed way more attention to what I read. It was really interesting to track my reading and see the variety of what I’ve read. Anyways, this post is going to be longer than usual, so I added a table of contents to make it easier to navigate. Contents★ Reading★ Blogging ★ 2021 Goals Review★ 2022 Goals Reading Books Read: 53 | Pages Read: 18,960 | Average Book Length: 358 pages Best Book of the Year: Luck of the Titanic by Stacey Lee…

December Wrap-Up | A Cold But Otherwise Okay End to the Year
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. Happy New Year’s Eve! We are so close to 2022 and I can’t believe it. This is the last time I am going to say this: How did 2021 go by so fast? It’s like I blinked and the year was over. Are we ready for 2022? I don’t know. This is my last post of the year, which is kind of crazy, honestly. BOOKS READ I read 5 books which I’m happy about. I didn’t really stick to my TBR, but I read 2 out of 3 books that I planned to read this month, plus a couple others. The Nightingale…

My One Year Blogiversary! | Reflections and Gratitudes
Three hundred and sixty-nine days ago (yes, I know I’m late), I pressed ‘publish’ on my very first blog post. It wasn’t a lot–just an introduction to my blog and a little bit about myself. Hello everyone. Welcome to Pages of Starlight. I thought I’d take a quick opportunity to talk a little about myself and the blog. My name is Lotus and I love reading and the creative arts, specifically photography and writing. I’m a young teen with a love for fantasy, mystery, and historical fiction novels. I wanted a place to share my thoughts and adventures about them, so I created this blog. The name ‘Pages of Starlight’…

Let’s Talk Bookish: Top Dos and Don’ts For New Bloggers
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I have one more week of school until finals, which is really surprising, since we only just got back from Thanksgiving break this week. I’m glad for winter break though. A week just doesn’t seem enough of a break from school, does it? Anyways, let’s get into today’s post! Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme created by Rukky @ Eternity Books and is hosted by Rukky and Dani @ Literary Lion where we discuss various topics and share our opinions. Today’s topic is Top Dos and Don’ts For New Bloggers (suggested by Rafaela @ The Portuguese Bibliophile). Let me just throw this out there: I…

November Wrap-Up | Lots of Reading and Time With Family and Friends
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. We are on to the last month of the year, can you believe it? 2022 is right around the corner, which is really shocking. I say this a lot, I know–you probably get tired of listening to me talk about it, but whatever. We’ll still talk about it. But for now, I’ll spare you that and instead of talking about the future, I’ll talk about the past: my wrap-up for November! BOOKS READ I managed to read 5 books this month, which I’m really happy about! I did not think that I would get to this many, but two of them I…

September & October Wrap-Up | Back From Hiatus, Blog Redesign, and New Blogging Schedule (maybe?)
Hello, hello, everyone! I am back! It’s been over a month since my last post and I’m happy to say that the break I took was really good for me. I was gone for a lot longer than I expected but school was taking up most of my time and I wasn’t feeling ready to come back yet. But I have returned and am excited to resume blogging! I’m going to be doing two months in this wrap up, as well as give you some updates about the blog, so let’s get into it! Oh and by the way, where did this year go? I know I say this in…

August Wrap-Up | School Started and I’m Exhausted
This month was exhausting. It was pretty good overall but so many things happened. I’ll talk a but more about what’s going on later in this post, but for now, let’s go through the past month. BOOKS READ I only managed to read 2 books this month, which is my lowest yet. These Violent Delights told me a long time to get through and I didn’t have that much time to read, unfortunately. And also, I did not stick to my TBR I was planning to do at all this month. These Violent Delights (These Violent Delights #1) by Chloe Gong|★★★★1/2I loved this book so much! All of my incredibly…

July Wrap-Up | Very Busy, Not Exactly in a Good Way
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. These months keep flying by and it’s like I can’t keep up. This month kept me so busy, I didn’t have a lot of time to focus on the things I wanted to do like writing and being active on my blog and others. Nevertheless, this month still went okay. BOOKS READ The Weight of the Stars by K. Ancrum| ★★★★1/2I started out not loving this book, I didn’t get what the hype of it was. But then the ending came and I discovered that it is brilliant. The last 20ish percent of the book had so many emotions in it and…

June Wrap-Up | An Uneventful but Productive(ish) Start to Summer Break
This post is later than usual, I know. I kind of forgot that June was ending and I also procrastinated, so this wrap up comes almost a week late. Also, did I say another month could pass by? We’re already half way through 2021. Craziness. June was pretty uneventful, but it was still pretty good. BOOKS READ I managed to read 5(ish) books this months! It wasn’t great and I only made it through half my TBR for the month (which, evidently, I set way to high), but I think I did okay. I also really enjoyed all the books I read, which was great! Picture Us in the Light…
