February & March Wrap-Up | sorry for disappearing
Hey, everyone! Long time no see . . . Sorry about that. My life got a bit off kilter at the beginning of March, and I needed time to focus on other things. And then school got busy, with my AP Calc class deciding to rush and finish everything before spring break so we wouldn’t have to take our last unit test when we get back.
So, I thought I would do a two-month wrap-up. It’s Wednesday, which isn’t a day I normally post, but I thought I would get this out anyway. I have no guarantees that I will stay consistent this month or next. AP exams are approaching pretty fast, and I have other end of the year stuff to deal with too. I’m just going to go with it; if I time I’ll post, but if not, I’m not going to stress myself out and try to get content out.
BOOKS READ
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman|📖|★★★.5
I enjoyed this story, but I don’t think it was my style. I’m not a huge horror fan, so this was definitely something outside my comfort zone. It wasn’t that scary, but I just wasn’t very invested. I also guessed the twist near the end, so the reveal wasn’t as impactful.
A Song Below Water by Bethany C. Morrow|📖|★★★★
I really liked this! I loved Tavia and Effie’s relationship and how they supported each other. I like how magic was weaved into the real world; it’s set in Portland, Oregon, and magical creatures are normal. I’m not sure if I’m going to read the sequel, A Chorus Rises, but we’ll see.
Foul Heart Huntsman by Chloe Gong|📱|★★★★.5
This was definitely a roller coaster. But I’m so happy for the characters that we get to see in this book. I’m not going to say anything specifically because of spoilers, but for the people who have read this already, you know what I’m talking about!
Heartstopper: Volume 5 by Alice Oseman|📖|★★★★
Aww, this one hit. I am in the same position that Nick is, expect I am a year ahead and potentially leaving for college this fall. My boyfriend and I have talked about what it’s going to be like, but mainly we’re just trying not to think about it. Anyways, I liked this volume and am sad that the next one will be the last.
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros|📱|★★★★.5
This book! I was not prepared for how much I like this book. But that ending 😠What was that? I can’t handle this cliffhanger. I have Iron Flame on hold at the library, but I still have about 4 weeks, so I’ll have to wait a while until I can read it. I’m most likely going to be writing a review for Fourth Wing, so I’ll share more of my thoughts then.
CURRENTLY READING
I Will Always Write Back by Caitlin Alifirenka & Martin Ganda
I’m enjoying this book so far! I don’t usually read memoirs, especially not of people I don’t know, but my mom got this a while ago when we were at a bookstore together, and it looked interesting. I don’t know a lot of Zimbabwe, so I enjoy learning about the country while reading.
I kept up a schedule for most of February and then disappeared for all of March. What I did post, though, had a bit of a Percy Jackson theme going for it.

I’ve done poetry writing, and that’s about it. I would’ve liked to do some work on my WIP, but I haven’t had the time nor the motivation. I want to work on it, and I guess that counts as motivation, but I have so many other things are a higher priority. But I’m glad that I’m still doing some form of writing. Poetry has taught me a lot this year.
🎬 TV Shows and Movies: I’m still watching American Born Chinese, which I’m enjoying. I also finished season 3 of The Umbrella Academy, and I don’t know if I want to watch the final season which releases in August. Season 3 was . . . definitely something. On the other hand, I started watching Shadow and Bone, which I really like.
🧶 Temperature Blanket Update: I’m even more behind. Honestly, I think I’ve lost motivation for it. I’m hoping I’ll get some back so I can actually work on it and complete it, but I’m starting to think I was a bit ambitious.
🌱 I didn’t really do much in February or March. My life has been a bit weird lately, just dealing with some personal stuff, so that’s why I’ve been a bit absent lately. But it’s getting better. I’ve also been dealing with college decisions. All the colleges I applied to have gotten back to me, and now I just have to decide where I want to go. Which is the hard part.
How are you doing? How was your February and March?
