Photos From the Past Few Months
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I am finally on Thanksgiving break, which I am very grateful for. It feels like my teachers crammed us with work before the break; I had three separate essays to work on in the past week. It was a lot.
I haven’t shared any photography in a few months, but I’ve been doing a lot of it. I’m taking a photography class for an elective this year and it’s been fun! I’m learning how to use my camera, the aspects of photography, and proper technique.
Anyways, today I’ll be sharing some photos I’ve taken in the past few months/year. (One of them is from like three years ago, but I’ve never shared it). A lot of these are ones I’ve taken for class. I have a ton of pictures for class, but didn’t include a lot of them since they were kind of boring or could potentially reveal my exact location.
The first two photos are examples of alphabet photography, which was our most recent project in photo class. These are probably my favorites that I took, J and N. I was able to get most of the letters, surprising. We could do uppercase or lowercase; I did mostly uppercase, since it was easier.
The next photo is a bit dark, but it was the best one I could do. This was during our Manual Mode week. We had learned about all the features to take a good photo and got to combine it all. We had to do some creative shots and this one was my close-up shot. I like how you can see the spider web between the plant.
The pink flower was for our lesson on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. This was for emphasis. I don’t remember the exact definition, but it’s about making the subject stand out in the photo. I’d say I captured that pretty well. I love how the pink contrasts brightly with the dark green background.
We recently did landscape photography, and for this one, we got to go on a walking field trip off campus! It gets boring when all you have to take pictures of is around the school. We went to a nearby park and got to take pictures. I really like the composition of these and how the sun streaks through the photo in the second one.
This first photo was taken at school somewhere. I don’t remember what we were shooting for, but we were allowed to have our phones with us this day, because I know I took this with my phone. I love how I was able to get the details of the leaves. You can see the texture on them. When I took this, my phone was literally in the flowers.
I don’t really remember where I took this. I think it may have been on a camping trip over the summer. I’ve always thought photos like these looked really cool, so I wanted to take one of my own. I like how it turned out.
Okay, this photo is really old. I took this at least two or three years ago, sometime during the start of quarantine. I didn’t know how to use a camera properly, but my dad was teaching me a bit. Usually sun glare isn’t the best to have in a photo, but it makes a cool effect in this one–you can see the dust particles in the air.
And the last photo was taken at the Crystal Cove Beach in Southern California when I went to Disneyland last year. We went during Thanksgiving break and Disneyland was decked out for Christmas. I’ve never gone during the holiday season, so it was fun to see all the trees and festive decorations.
Those are all the photos I have to share today! It’s not a lot, but I hope to gather some more in the future. I always love doing photography posts and I made it a goal to do more this year than last year.
Which photo is your favorite? Do you enjoy photography? What do you like to take pictures of?
