54 Thoughts I Had While Watching Heartstopper

I HAVE FINALLY WATCHED IT!! I read the entirety of Heartstopper a little while ago (I can’t wait for Volume 5!) because I am very much a “book before film” person. Afterwards, I couldn’t wait to watch the show because everyone was raving about it.

Instead of writing a composed and fully thought-out review, I am sharing my unfiltered thoughts I had while watching Heartstopper. Most of time, it was just me obsessing over how adorable Charlie and Nick are and comparing the scenes in the film to the book. And yes, I know 54 thoughts are a lot, but they’re very short.

I also drew this digital art portrait of Nick and Charlie. I got into doing this kind of art a little while ago (thanks to Evin @ A Curly Sue’s Ramblings) but then forgot about it until a few days ago when I was looking through Procreate. I thought doing one of Nick and Charlie would be fun, so I did. Tracing over everything was fairly easy, until I got to Charlie’s hands in his lap. It’s dark underneath the table and his fingers kept blending into his clothes which made it hard to figure out how his hands were situated. Luckily, it turned out all right and I’m really happy with the outcome.

Now, onto my thoughts!

Okay, it’s pretty obvious that I loved the show. The casting and songs were true perfection and I’m so happy that they’re making another season. They really went all for it to find actors that looked like the characters and it’s amazing how they did. Elle, Tara, and Darcy getting more screen time was awesome and the fact that Isaac is kind of just seventh wheeling is a bit funny and sad. All in all, absolute wholesomeness. I will definitely be rewatching this at some point.
