March Wrap-Up | In Which Time Went Slow and Fast
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. We are officially one-fourth of the way through the year! That is crazy to think about. And it has been over two years since the first COVID shutdown happened! That’s even crazier. It’s so weird to think that I started the pandemic as an eighth grader and now I’m in tenth grade, soon to be halfway done with high school.
March was a super busy month for me, with a lot of stuff happening. I’ll talk about some of these later on, but for now, let’s get into what I read.

I have found a new favorite contemporary. This was such a good book, with great messages of standing up for what you believe in and amazing characters. I loved Karina and Ace’s relationship and how Karina grew throughout the storyline.

My first ARC! I was so excited to receive this and was even happier when I enjoyed the story. The themes in the story were very empowering and ones that I think everyone should be aware of. I loved Michie’s character arc and how she came to accept herself for who she was.
As Good as Dead (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder #3) by Holly Jackson|π±|β

This book gave me chills. As the third and final book in the AGGGTM series, As Good As Dead was much darker than the previous stories. Pip’s discoveries were haunting and the person following Pip was mysterious. On a lighter note, Pip and Ravi were as great a couple as ever and my heartstrings were tugged to their breaking point at the outcome of it all. And that ending!

I really wanted to like this book. And I did. The worldbuilding was detailed and showed how climate change can change our world. Cee and Kasey were great characters and I liked the dual-perspective we get from them. But overall, I was confused for a lot of what was happening. I understood the basic concepts and everything, but some of the context didn’t make a whole lot of sense. Maybe it’s my fault for not paying close enough attention, but there were just some things I did not understand.
CURRENTLY READING
I’ve decided to take the TBR section out of my monthly wrap-ups because I often change my mind as to what I read, depending on what I have available.
MY POSTS
Well, I did it again. I disappeared for two weeks in March with no plan to do that. School was pretty busy though and I had to focus on it first. Here are my posts for the month:

AROUND THE BLOGOSPHERE
To be honest, I totally forgot about this section. Which means I forgot to note down posts I liked in March. So, we are going to skip this section for right now and hope I do a better job of remembering this month.
BLOGS I DISCOVERED
I noticed Riddhi @ Whispering Stories started doing this a little while ago and I thought it was a great way to find new bloggers. So, credit to her for the idea! I’ll be sharing the blogs I discovered in the last month and a little on why I decided to follow them. Hopefully, this will make me blog hop more!
Love is Between Pages – This is a pretty new blog and is run by Renee, where she shares wonderful reviews!
The Homeschooled Girl – This blog is run by Pearl, who is a homeschooled girl (hence the blog title), who posts about her lifestyle. I’ve started to branch out more on who I follow and Pearl has some really interesting posts!
A Book by the Fire – I love the name of this blog, it sounds so cozy and comforting. A Book by the Fire posts mainly reviews, which I really enjoy reading. I’ve gotten some great recommendations from there!
Sweaters and Raindrops – This blog is run by Siren, and I really like the way she writes her reviews! They’re easy to read and I like how it’s split into different sections.
Well, I didn’t focus on my WIP this month, but I did do some other writing. I had to do a poetry assignment for school and I wrote a poem that I’m actually really happy with. I haven’t been exposed to a lot of poetry and the way they teach poetry in school isn’t very interesting, but I’m building more of an appreciation for it. I’m planning on sharing the poem later on, once I finish it up. I’d like to write another stanza or two, to fully express my thoughts.
π« This month went by very fast, but at the same time, it went by extremely slowly. We had this weird testing schedule at school for two weeks in the middle of the month. We had our regular block schedule, but school started at the time our normal days start, which is 8:30, making each of our classes two hours long. It made the week go by so slowly!
π« My reading mentor program has ended. My last day was last Wednesday. I had a lot of fun with the kids I spent time with and learned so much about teaching little kids and interacting with them. I’m planning to participate in their summer program, which I can tell will be just as fun, if not more, fun.
π« I had an orchestra/band clinic with one of the middle schools in the area, which was super fun! We set up in our school’s gym and had violins, cellos, bass, clarinets, trumpets, trombones, tubas, french horns, flutes, timpani drums, a snare drum, marimbas, and probably some more instruments I’m forgetting. We would’ve had our high school violas there, but the middle school didn’t have any viola players, so they didn’t have to come. We played the middle school’s music and I had to sight-read it the whole time. Luckily, their music was pretty easy so I was able to play it well enough.
π« This month marked the one-year death anniversary of someone very close to me. I took the day off school and my family went on a nice hike at a place where he loved. It’s kind of surreal to think about how much time has already passed. It’s been a whole year but it feels like it’s only been a little while. I’ve definitely learned a lot from this year.

Lovely wrap-up! I completely agree with what you said about As Good As Dead, it was so much darker but I felt like it was an organic development for the characters! That ending broke me too! I am so sorry for your loss and I hope the grief will be easier to manage with time. I also think it’s awesome that you got to play with that middle school, so many instruments! π
Lotus @ Pages of Starlight
Thank you! Yes, totally! Thank you, that means a lot. It was a lot of fun, I’m hoping we have more opportunities to play with younger kids.
