The Chapters and Melodies Tag
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I didn’t mean to disappear for a week, but my schedule has been very busy. Ever since I started that youth mentoring program, I’ve had something happening after school every day, causing me to push off doing homework until the evening and not be able to work on my posts. I was up until 9:00 pm the other day finishing a history assignment.
I’ve been doing quite a few tags recently, which might not be the most exciting thing to read, but I had a lot of fun doing this one. Today we’re combing two of my favorite things: reading and music! Thank you so much to Riddhi @ Whispering Stories for tagging me to do the Chapters and Melodies Tag!
The Rules:
- Link back to the creatorsβ posts β I have 12% of a plan & A Curly Sueβs Ramblings

- Have fun!
Ignoring the ‘featuring Lzzy Hale’ part, “Shatter Me” by Lindsey Stirling and Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi share the same title. I haven’t actually read the book, but I recently added it to my TBR. The song is one of the few Lindsey Stirling pieces that has lyrics throughout the whole song and I love the theme and message behind it.
“Human” by Christina Perri fits so well with The Bronzed Beasts by Roshani Chokshi. It reminds me a lot of the relationship between SΓ©verin and Laila, with how much tension there is between them and the history they have together. Not only does this song describe their relationship, it talks about being more than human, something that SΓ©verin wishes to become. But at the end of it all, he’s still just a mortal, with human abilities.
I haven’t read this yet, but Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu is all about a girl with a gift for music. I haven’t read anything by Marie Lu, and I’m excited that this will be my introduction to her. I have some of her other books on my TBR as well, but this is at the top of the list.
Percabeth, of course! Who else? For the longest time, I couldn’t figure out which song reminded me of them. I finally went with “Stand By You” by Rachel Platten. As demigods, Percy and Annabeth go through a lot. The line “Even if we can’t find Heaven / I’ll walk through Hell with you” reminds me of the whole Tartarus thing in Heroes of Olympus.
The movie was so sad! π My friends and I saw this together and they were sobbing when the sad parts were happening. I am not one who cries during movies, so I wasn’t, but it was still really sad! This song is so good and it makes the movie even more emotional.
I’m going to leave this as an open tag, so I won’t be tagging anyone specifically. I’m tagging anyone who would like to do this!
Do you enjoy music? What are some songs that remind you of books?
