Life in Books Book Tag
Hey, everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I am finally get to some of the tags that I was tagged for a while back. Today we have the Life in Books Book Tag. Thank you to Georgia @ Lost in Neverland for tagging me; sorry it took so long for me to get to!
1. Find a book for each of your initials.
L – Luck of the Titanic by Stacey Lee
N – The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
B – The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
2. Count your age along your bookshelf – what book is it?
Graceling (Graceling Realm #1) by Kristin Cashore
I originally had a different book here, but then I got rid of some books and rearranged the shelf, so it changed. I read this series a few years ago, with Graceling being my favorite. The plot was engaging and it was full to the brink with action. Katsa and Po were great main characters. I remember being devastated at the ending when I figured out what happened.
3. Name a book set in your city/country.
Picture Us in the Light by Kelly Loy Gilbert
This is the closest book I could find that is set near where I live. Picture Us in the Light is set in Cupertino, California. I don’t live in Cupertino, but I do live in California. This book was amazing. The writing is beautiful; imaginative and written in a way that you can totally tell Danny is an artist. The characters were well-crafted and the complex storyline kept me on my toes.
4. Name a book that represents a destination you’d love to travel to.
The Bronzed Beasts (The Gilded Wolves #3) by Roshani Chokshi
I’m roughly 60% of the way through this on audiobook. Over half of the story is set in Venice, Italy. I’d love to visit Italy; maybe not in 1890, but definitely modern-day. Traveling on a gondola seems like a lot of fun, for some reason. All the pictures I’ve seen of Venice are beautiful, I want to experience it for myself.
5. Name your favourite childhood book.
Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin
I read this book so many times when I was younger. Grace Lin is one of my favorite authors. I love the artwork she made for this book (as she does all of her books); the colors are vibrant and the style fits the book so well. Minli is a great protagonist, curious and brave. I saw a play for this when I was younger and that was a lot of fun.
6. Name a book that’s your favourite color.
Five Feet Apart by Rachel Lippincott
My favorite color is blue and I think the cover for Five Feet Apart is so pretty. I love how the flowers are drawn in the design of lungs, which is very significant in the book, since Stella and Will both have cystic fibrosis. Both the book and movie were amazing and sad too. When I saw the movie back in seventh grade, I was with two of my friends and the theater was practically empty. It was just us and like, five other people.
7. Which book do you have the fondest memories of?
Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan
I have read Percy Jackson so many times. When I was in fifth and sixth grade, my friends and I were obsessed with Greek mythology and the Greek gods and goddesses. We read the original series, as well as Heroes of Olympus. We even did a Percy Jackson themed Halloween once. We dressed up as the Hunters of Artemis and I was Thalia. It was a lot of fun.
8. Which book did you have the most difficulty reading?
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
I read this when I was twelve and I enjoyed it a lot but it took me a long time to get through. I think the more complex vocabulary and different plot line slowed me down, but it was an educational read.
9.) Which book in your TBR pile will give you the biggest accomplishment when you finish it?
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Technically, this isn’t the book that I would give me the biggest accomplishment, but it’s necessary to read in order to read the actual book. I haven’t read Six of Crows. I know everyone is raving about it and I really want to read it, but I should probably read the trilogy beforehand. So, technically, Six of Crows would give me the biggest sense of accomplishment, but Shadow and Bone comes first.
